A pay-to-play jukebox platform for bars and hospitality venues. Patrons scan a QR code, browse songs, pay via UPI, and request tracks to the venue's speaker system — competing for queue priority through a real-time bidding mechanic.

Privacy Policy

Kern Platforms Private Limited ("Kern Platforms", "we", "us", "our") operates the SoundDrop platform and the kernplatforms.com website. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you use SoundDrop:

  • Mobile phone number — used to create your account and verify your identity via OTP. Stored as a one-way cryptographic hash. We cannot retrieve your original phone number.
  • Display name — optional. Used on the queue display screen if provided.
  • Payment information — processed entirely by Razorpay. We store only the Razorpay order ID and payment status. We do not store card numbers, UPI IDs, or any payment credentials.
  • Song requests and queue history — stored to operate the jukebox, calculate your SoundDrop score, and resolve disputes.
  • Venue visit records — which venues you have visited and when.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and operate the SoundDrop jukebox service
  • To process payments via Razorpay
  • To send OTP verification SMS via Twilio
  • To display your requests on the venue queue screen
  • To manage your wallet credits and purchase history
  • To calculate your SoundDrop score across visits
  • To prevent fraud and misuse

3. Data Sharing

We share your information only with the following third parties to operate the service:

  • Razorpay Financial Solutions Private Limited — payment processing
  • Twilio Inc. — OTP SMS delivery
  • Spotify AB — song search and metadata
  • Cloudflare Inc. — infrastructure and CDN

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for marketing purposes.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Patron session tokens expire after 30 days. OTP records are deleted after use or expiry. You may request deletion of your account by contacting us at the address below.

5. Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Phone numbers are stored as cryptographic hashes and cannot be reversed. Payment data is handled exclusively by Razorpay under PCI-DSS compliance. We do not store any payment credentials on our servers.

6. Your Rights

You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Cookies

The SoundDrop patron app does not use cookies. It uses browser local storage only to maintain your login session on your device.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

This policy applies to all purchases made on the SoundDrop platform operated by Kern Platforms Private Limited.

1. Song Requests

Payments for individual song requests (standard requests, skip requests, and dedications) are non-refundable once the payment is confirmed and the song is added to the queue. This is because the service is delivered immediately upon payment confirmation.

If a song request is removed from the queue by the venue operator for content moderation reasons, a credit of equivalent value will be issued to your SoundDrop wallet within 24 hours.

2. Credit Packs

Credit packs (Starter, Night Out, Party Pack, Legend) may be refunded if no credits from the pack have been redeemed. Refund requests must be submitted within 7 days of purchase by contacting riteshp@kernplatforms.com.

Partially redeemed packs are not eligible for refund. Expired credits are not refundable.

3. Bid War Refunds

In a bid war, losing participants receive a partial credit refund automatically to their SoundDrop wallet. The refund amount equals the total bid placed minus the original skip price. This credit is issued as a skip credit redeemable at any SoundDrop venue within 60 days.

4. Technical Failures

If a payment is deducted from your UPI account but the song is not added to the queue due to a technical error, we will issue a full refund to your original payment method within 5–7 business days. Contact us at riteshp@kernplatforms.com with your mobile number and payment details.

5. Jukebox Unavailability

If the jukebox at a venue becomes unavailable after payment is confirmed (for example, due to a power failure or technical issue at the venue), a full credit will be issued to your SoundDrop wallet within 24 hours.

6. How to Request a Refund

  • Include: your registered mobile number, Razorpay payment ID, and reason for refund
  • We will respond within 2 business days
  • Approved refunds are processed within 5–7 business days to the original payment method

7. Governing Law

This policy is governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from transactions on the SoundDrop platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
